My passion for, and knowledge of traditional authentic Italian food has grown over the years, since my first trip to Italy back in 1992. Italian food dishes are prepared all around the world and are presented in countless magazines, cookbooks, web sites and TV shows. But are these truly authentic Italian food recipes? Does it even matter if they are truly authentic Italian food recipes? Well, if you are like me, yes it does matter, and I want to share my passion for the most beautiful, yet simple, food in all the world.

Food in Italy is part of a very, very long tradition, which is still very much alive among the people of Italy today. The modern Italian lifestyle still includes many of the traditional dishes whose recipes where developed many years ago by the native Italian population dating back to the ancient Greeks and Romans. Italian Food is Easy to Prepare and Anyone Can Learn!


Italian food Traditional Italian food is always easy to prepare, full of passion and simplistic; like no other food on this planet! Every time we re-create a recipe for Italian food, we learn how the simplicity and classical taste of typical Italian flavours creates a great gourmet dish.

When I tasted true authentic Italian food for the first time, I was taken by its uniqueness, simplicity and originality of flavours which blend so well together, especially when accompanied by a good Italian wine. All seemed so easy and yet so fine and elegant. I spent my first trip in Italy sampling as many different dishes and foods as I could with so much enjoyment, but believe me, you could spend a life time in Italy and never run out of new recipes to try.

Coming back to Canada, I tried to recreate some of those same Italian food dishes I had fallen in love with and recapture those same unique flavours that stole my heart forever. It was not the same, but many great Italian foods are available now worldwide and many great Italian food recipes can be reproduced. We will show you how.

Naturally Prepared Food with Focus on Quality, Nutrition and Taste

Italy has been a country dedicated to growing and preparing genuine food for centuries. A tradition which continues to grow even today. Many Italian regions are famous for their local, authentic foods, which are still grown using ancient, natural and organic practices. Italians pride themselves of not over using, if used at all, pesticides and have adopted farming practices that use the technology of modern times and the wisdom of their past. Quality is perhaps the most important aspect of the Italian food culture. It is not about how full your plate is, but the quality of that food on your plate that matters most when you are in Italy. For Italians, food is for relaxation, socialization, enjoyment and delight. It's not only about how satisfied your stomach is. It's as equally about how satisfied your soul is. Every Italian knows how important the quality of the food they eat is. And they demand quality in their food, so much so that the market is driven by the consumers' expectation that their demands will be met.

Also, the nutritional aspect of the food is very important in Italian food recipes. We eat to nourish our body and we need to select those foods that best suit our nutritional needs in order to be healthy and to maintain good health at every stage of our life. That is why in Italy everyone uses extra virgin olive oil of, for example, because this traditional condiment is rich in many anti-oxidants, which is very important for our well being. Italian wines, are another example of how something that is consumed in moderation can actually be healthy for you, especially because it is prepared by organically grown grapes and made using old practices with little, but mostly, no chemicals.
